Pastoral Care Before and After Abortion
Faith Aloud receives phone calls from women across the country who are seeking spiritual counseling before and after abortion. Counselors and medical professionals often hear women express their spiritual concerns about abortion. Many women have felt shame and stigma forced on them by their religious groups, their families, and the society. We want to provide women with the spiritual comfort of knowing that God is with them through all things.
Now for the first time, our training is offered as an online course!

You will be able to take the course at your own pace.
This training course will cover the basic information needed to provide pastoral care to women and families who are considering abortion or have had an abortion procedure.
- Medical information about abortion procedures
- Current legal information about abortion
- The emotional and spiritual needs of women who choose abortion
- Suggestions for incorporating ritual and prayer into pastoral conversations about abortion
- Resources for conversations with women and families who are exploring all pregnancy options
Clergy who complete this training will be given the opportunity to volunteer as a counselor for Faith Aloud, but no one will be obligated to do so.
$50 registration fee.
Faithful Presence
People of faith stand outside of abortion clinics to support the patients and staff. This visible supportive religious witness also stands in stark contrast to the hateful religious harassment of abortion protesters.
Seminarians Aloud
Organized meetings of seminary students explore the theological implications of sex education, sexual autonomy, and reproduction.
Educational Programming for Congregations
Clergy or group leaders may contact us for classes and presentations that are tailored to the needs of their group.
